HAJIPUR: In a gruesome incident, policemen threw a 14-year-old boy out of a speeding express train near a overbridge here resulting in loss of one leg of the teenager, railway police sources said on Thursday.
Sources said while the boy, Mohammad Naseen Ansari, who used to sell tea in Delhi-bound Saryu-Yamuna Express, was counting money when some uniformed policemen first snatched his earnings.
When he resisted they pushed him out of the running train near Ramasish Chowk bridge late on Tuesday night. The boy, who had run away from home nearly three months ago and was selling tea in the train, lost one of his legs in the fall, the sources said.
On receiving information about the incident, deputy inspector general of railway police S K Sinha visited Hajipur Sadar Hospital on Wednesday and ordered a probe into the matter, the sources said. An FIR has been lodged with Hajipur railway police, the sources said adding no arrest has been made so far.
