PATNA/NEW DELHI: A notorious criminal of Patna, Guddu Sharma, was killed in a police encounter on the Gaziabad-Delhi Road on Wednesday. According to information reaching the state police HQ in Patna, Guddu was on way to Delhi on a motorcycle when the encounter took place.
Dreaded by state businessmen as a terror, Guddu was wanted in many criminal cases in the state. He was in the news recently for his involvement in the murder of a Reliance engineer in Patna. "Sharma had been active for the last two years but it was for the last eight to nine months that he had emerged as a terror," Patna SP (city) R K Rathi said.
While Rathi termed Guddu killing as a relief for the people of Patna, Bihar DGP A R Sinha described the encounter as a Diwali gift for the people of Bihar.
