Also, to boost trade and economic activities, the ASEAN also agreed to set up an ASEAN Single Window for quick decision making on customs.
"The National Single Window will help in synchronizing processing of data and information," according to an agreement adopted by ASEAN trade and economic officials here during the ongoing 11th ASEAN summit.
Speaking about Indo-ASEAN trade, the participants in the summit expressed optimism that the bilateral trade between India and ASEAN will reach $30 billion by 2007.
All members expressed satisfaction that the rules of origin issues for free trade agreements have been favourably resolved. The issues related to the dropping of duties when engaging in trade with ASEAN members.
Some other issues that remain would be ironed out over the next six months, the leaders said.
The leaders at the summit also lauded India's role in the tsunami relief operations and in combatting terrorism.
