PATNA: The Patna police on Wednesday raided the autopsy and morgue sections of the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) and recovered a trunk full of human skulls and bones and arrested one employee, Manoj.
The police also picked up two other employees for interrogation. They were suspected to be involved in the horrid practice of selling the skulls and bones acquired from unclaimed corpses.
As they were picked up by the police, they showed no sign of remorse or worry on their faces and one was heard saying, "Kuchh nahi hoga, sab chhoot jayenge."
(Nothing will happen to us and we will be freed). The police, however, said an FIR has been registered and the entire episode will be inquired into.
Health minister C M Rai said it was a heinous crime and whosoever was involved will be punished. The administration was shocked to learn about the nefarious business of sale of human skeletons and bones, which had been going on for a long time at the PMCH.
