The I-T officials also seized documents relating to investments worth Rs 10 lakh made in purchasing plots allegedly by Makharia group.

The department is yet to open his bank locker though.

The bank accounts of the group have been freezed, said Singh adding that the department is preparing investory of the stock, cash, documents and other materials seized during the raids.

Sources said, in all, the department had conducted raids at ten premises of Makharia in Patna and one in Surat. Although Makharia had been filing his returns regularly, the I-T officials suspect that he was indulging in tax evasion.
