PATNA: DSP (town) of Patna Rakesh Kumar Dubey is among the seven police personnel who have been awarded the Gallantry Medal by the Bihar government.
Other recipients of the Gallantry Medal, the highest honour of its kind conferred by the state government, are: STF DSP Sanjay Singh, inspector of Patna's Kotwali police station Ajay Kumar Singh, STF sub-inspectors Irshad Alam and Shashi Ranjan, and STF junior commandos Dhanraj Kumar and Pashupati Bharati.
Each of the recipients will be given the medal, citation and a cash reward of Rs 51,000 by governor Buta Singh at the Independence Day function in Gandhi Maidan here on Monday.
The state government had instituted the award last year for its police forces.
Incidentally, Rakesh Kumar Dubey's father S N Dubey, who was also in the state police service, had been awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry and President's Police Medal for Meritorious Services.
