PATNA: The state witnessed acute power shortage as the Patna-Gaya transmission lines a snapped on Monday evening.
According to BSEB sources, the snapping of the transmission lines meant that Patna was getting 80 MW less than the 320 MW of power it requires during peak hours.
The power shortage led to frequent and prolonged power cuts in several localities on Monday evening.
The localities like Pataliputra Colony, Boring Road, Kankerbagh, Kadamkuan, Fraser Road and other important localities witnessed frequent disruption of power supply on Monday evening.
The Bihar State Electricity Board sources indicated that they were forced to resort to load-shedding due to inadequate power supply.
They indicated that power supply would be normal only by Tuesday morning.
