Chargesheet filed against ex-Patna DM

PATNA: State Vigilance Investigation Bureau on Thursday filed a chargesheet in the infamous flood-relief scam case against 11 accused, including suspended IAS officer and former Patna DM Gautam Goswami and kingpin of the scam Santosh Kumar Jha.

All the accused are at present lodged in Beur Central Jail, Patna.

Although the bureau filed chargesheet against Goswami without getting sanction from the competent authorities to prosecute him in the case, vigilance ADG Neelmani said that it was in the pipeline.

He, however, said that the investigating agency, which had registered a case in connection with the scam on May 28 against 28 persons, including Goswami, had procured sanction to prosecute other government and bank officials in a record time.
