Additional Solicitor General Mr Gopal Subramaniam took the stand before a Bench comprising Chief Justice Mr RC Lahoti, Mr Justice GP Mathur and Mr Justice PK Balasubramanyan, which was hearing pleas of former NDA MLAs challenging the dissolution of the House on 23 May, that the Centre was ready to make available to parties the copies of the Governor's reports.
The disclosure came at a time when senior advocate Mr Soli J Sorabjee was strenuously arguing that reports of the Governor dated 27 April and 21 May be placed before the court for judicial scrutiny. Mr Sorabjee said the court should test as to whether the reports mentioned about sufficient material evidence for the Governor to come to a "grave apprehension" of horse-trading in the Assembly, which was put under suspended animation since 7 March, days after the declaration of election results. -- PTI
