Miscreants kidnap girl, gangrape her

HAZARIBAG: Four miscreants, who are yet to be identified, kidnapped a 15-year-old girl, Sunita, between Noora and Mandai village under Hazaribag Sadar police station on Sunday while she was going to her aunt,s house at Mandai village and gangraped her, according to superintendent of police, Hazaribag, Praveen Kumar Singh.

Giving details of the incident, the SP said that these miscreants followed the girl right from the local Indrapuri Chowk and took the advantage of darkness and kidnapped her saying that they knew her aunt and they would drop her there.

But instead of doing that, they made her to sniff an handkerchief and immediately after this she fell unconscious and the miscreants took her near the Muslim graveyard in Mandai and gangraped her and when they noticed her condition was deteriorating they dropped her there and escaped.

After this when the girl gained consciousness she started crying and ran to the nearby Pelawal police station where the people seeing her clothes immediately informed the Pelawal police who seeing her condition admitted her to the Hazaribag Sadar Hospital and informed her parents and other relatives who rushed to the hospital.

The girl belongs to village Baheri under the Hazaribag muffasil police station which was 10 km away from place of occurrence and after seeing the condition of the girl her father lodged an FIR at the Hazaribag Sadar police station.

On getting information, the SP rushed to the hospital and took the statement of the girl who gave the description of the accused persons and narrated the incident about the kidnapping.

The SP took the incident seriously and ordered Hazaribag OC J N Prasad to launch a drive for arresting the criminals and the police have arrested one person in this connection and are interrogating him.
