He blamed the BJP for creating confusion over the issue of panchayat elections for political gains.
BJP is hell-bent on dividing the society for selfish gains otherwise there is no chasm as such between tribals and non-tribals of the state who have lived together for years without any confrontation, Soren said.
While the JMM supremo was busy in blaming the BJP for the tension, some of his own party men were singing a different tune and refused to toe the line of their party leader.
"The decision of the HC was a very good one and it has taken care of the demands of non-tribals of the state who were feeling alienated due to the provisions of PESA," said JMM MP from Jamshedpur Sunil Mahto.
He also expressed disagreement with the views of his party chief and said that his stand might have been guided by some political compulsions.
"Soren is a tribal and hence he is supporting the stand of the Morcha, but he cannot impose his political compulsions on leaders like us who belong to non-tribal community," added Mahto who admitted that there was disagreement between the tribal and non-tribal leaders of JMM over the issue of reservation in panchayat elections.
JMM MLA and leader of opposition Sudhir Mahto, too, is on record of having said that the HC decision was a historical one, having taken care of interests of all sections of the society.
