New Delhi, Sept 9: Congress today kept a studied silence on the RJD supremo Lalu Prasad's demand that LJP Chief Ram Vilas Paswan should be kept out of the UPA if he broke ranks from the alliance in poll-bound Bihar but maintained that such an eventuality would help NDA.
"It is for UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to take into consideration all views before taking a decision. I will indicate my view to her," AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh told reporters here.
The Congress leader also had a dig at the CPI and Left parties other than CPI-M by remarking that "their dislike for a personality" was weighing more for them than ideology.
Asked whether Congress would make efforts to avoid formation of a third front and avert division of secular votes, he said, "we are trying our best, but if they do not listen, then batt lines are drawn".
