PATNA: The Railways have finalised an agreement with Punjab National Bank (PNB) to install two ATM counters at Patna Junction and Rajendra Nagar Terminal (RNT) respectively to cater to the needs of passengers particularly those visiting from outside states.
Giving this information Danapur DRM K B L Mittal said while the ATM counter would become functional in 10 days time at Rajendra Nagar Terminal, the ATM counter at Patna Junction would start functioning by the second week of May.
"The facility is likely to benefit businessmen in particular," he said. To keep a close watch on the activities of the touts as well as functioning of the Patna computerised reservation office, the railways recently installed a close circuit TV.
This system has so far proved helpful in maintaining full transparency in the reservation office working, the DRM said.
He maintained that the railways had decided to outsource sale of railway tickets at Neora and Phulwarisharif stations under the pilot project of the division.
The DRM said the Danapur division of East Central Railway (ECR) has become the only division of Indian Railways in which all A, B and D class stations have been provided with unreserved ticketing system (UTS ) facilities.
