RJD men in 'chalo Dilli' mode

PATNA: Most RJD leaders in Bihar appear to be in chalo Dilli mode. RJD national general secretary Shyam Rajak, rushed from Samastipur to Patna on Friday, addressed a press meet and rushed to the airport to catch the flight to Delhi.

"I have to attend the chheka (engagement ceremony) of Railway minister Lalu Prasad's third daughter," Rajak said. He wasn't the only one catching the flight to Delhi. Several other senior leaders went with him.

"Laluji's main base is Bihar. But the bridegroom's family is based in Haryana. They wanted the function to be held in Delhi. We have to agree because we hail from the bride's side," said RJD MLC Bhim Singh.

Almost everybody who's anybody in the RJD hopes to reach Delhi on April 30 the date when Chanda, Lalu and Rabri's third daughter, is scheduled to get married to a pilot.

"We told Laluji we also want to be present on the occasion. He has directed his secretary to make arrangements for our journey to and from Delhi," said an office bearer of the RJD state unit.

Trains from Patna to Delhi on April 28 and 29 and those coming from Delhi to Patna on May 1 and 2 are expected to be 'jam-packed'.

Incidentally, invitations for the wedding are yet to reach Patna. RJD leaders and workers are waiting anxiously. "The invitation cards are coming. Laluji will be in Patna on April 16," said a hopeful RJD worker.
