PATNA: IMA's national president-elect Dr Ajay Kumar on Sunday said doctors as a fraternity should go for community introspection as to why the prestige of this fraternity has become clouded. If this is not done, the situation may worsen, he added.
Addressing a seminar organised by the Patna West unit of Bihar chapter of IMA at the Bihar Chamber of Commerce auditorium here on Sunday, Kumar said fingers are being raised against the doctors and government doctors are being charged with not attending to their duties.
But it is an open secret that it is more because of the working conditions and lack of medical equipments and medicines in the hospitals.
He said leaders of medical associations have failed to bring home this point before the authorities and people. They are using their leadership position to further their personal interest, he said.
