Farhat, a burqa-clad widow and mother of eight, came with tears in her eyes. Her husband had been murdered near Pirbahore police station six months back.
The woman from Khan Mirza mohalla complained that at least four members of her husband's family had been gunned down by the a notorious criminal, Manto.
A visibly moved Nitish summoned SSP Kundan Krishnan and asked him to nab the criminal and help out the woman.
"Its a serious case and needs immediate action", Nitish said adding that there is no reason to disbelieve the woman. Nitish's janata durbar has become the final destination for the needy.
It is not that only poor people come there. On Monday, about a dozen women all living in Krishna Apartment here, came in their cars and joined the stream of the people.
Led by one Suman Sahay, they complained against the landowner who, they alleged, was terrorising them. The SSP was asked to take care of their complaint.
Dharmender Kumar Pandey, a blind student, demanded reservation for the physically handicapped in the appointment of teachers and his plea was referred to the secretary HRD.
In another instance, the chief minister asked the health secretary to provide relief to a cancer patient, Ramdeo Sah.
"Today most of the cases were related to police so I called up the DGP and DIG, (Hqs) Sunil Kumar here", Nitish told media persons.
He was heard asking the DGP to adopt some counselling methods too in order to solve the problems and not go with just 'policia' actions.
