This condition is likely to continue for some more days till the trough recedes to usher in the much-sought-after premonsoon showers, said director, meteorology (Patna) T N Jha.
The unbearable heat in the month of April had created a fear psychosis among the people that heat wave condition would prevail in Bihar and Jharkhand in May.
Thankfully, however, the moisture-laden easterly winds (blowing at 25-30 km per hour) brought much respite to people in Bihar, Jharkhand and eastern Uttar Pradesh in May when the nights have been much 'cooler'.
On the other hand, the western and southern India continued to reel under scorching heat. With the weathermen predicting the "possibility of thunder cloud towards evening/night in some areas" since May 1, some regions of Bihar and Jharkhand, indeed, experienced slight drizzle at times.
With the weathermen on Tuesday predicting light drizzle in next 24 hours in different parts of Bihar and Jharkhand, things cannot get any better for the people here.
