Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, concerned with the rising water in Bihar rivers due to incessant rain and dumping of water by Nepal, on Sunday, conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected regions in north Bihar and ordered immediate measures to ensure all the dams and bridges were reinforced and food and other essential items were available in the affected villages in abundance.
"We must come up with a permanent solution to put an end to this curse that affects Bihar each year," Kumar said adding within a year a concrete plan would be tabled by his government to minimize the effects of flood in the state.
Flying over Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, and Sheohar, the Chief Minister expressed his anguish over the flooding condition down below and ordered the Road Construction secretary to give him a detailed report of the condition of Highway 77.
