Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, fresh from his three-nation tour to England, Italy, and Canada, on Tuesday in Patna, said the famous Italian film-maker Sergio Scapagnini will soon be making a full-length feature film based on his own book in which the main character is from the Bihar-UP border.
"My request to make his next film in Bihar has been graciously accepted by Scapagnini who would soon begin the shooting of the film directed by noted film director Gautam Ghosh in various parts of Bihar," Modi said.
Scapagnini is no stranger to Bihar and certainly no stranger to India that he has visited over 40 times, the Deputy Chief Minister said adding the Italian film-maker has visited Bihar a couple of times and is surprisingly familiar with its history, geography, and its inherent politics.
In his book, the "Story of Lala", Lala is an eleven year old boy who leaves his village for Mumbai to help his poor parents buy the land they had been farming on lease. It's about his adventure - both good and bad - in a big city where he strives to create a world of love and honesty for himself, his family, and everyone around him.
The story is based on a true character that Scapagnini met during one of his many trips to India.
