Patna - Powerful upper caste men in Bihar stripped a Dalit woman and attempted to rape her when she refused to withdraw a police complaint against them.
Police said the woman of Beldih village in Gopalganj district was assaulted because she was determined not to take back her case relating to a property dispute.
She managed to escape from her assaulters and informed her family and other villagers.
`After that, a large number of villagers came to her rescue,' said a local police official, adding that a complaint had been filed on the basis of her statement.
