Village supports
The baby's foster mother has the support of her village.
"The lady who has bought the child has not committed any sin. In fact, she has saved the child's life," said Satyanarayan Prasad, villager, Bishunpursaraiya.
But news of the transaction reached the police and they are now investigating and trying to trace the missing mother.
"This matter will be verified and a detailed enquiry will be conducted. Then I will see what can be done," said Gupteshwar Pandey, DIG, Muzaffarpur, Tirhut Range.
The little girl doesn't have a name yet but she already has a story, a story that begins with helplessness, poverty and desperation.
Whoever the culprits in the case lets hope that for the girl the story has a happy ending.
