State Governor R. S. Gavai and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on the Independence Day in Patna on Tuesday, inaugurated the opening of Chanakya Law University at a function organized at its temporary campus at A. N. Sinha Institute northwest of Patna's Gandhi Maidan.
"This is a matter of great pride for Bihar," the Governor said adding he hoped the University, only the ninth of its kind in the entire nation, would produce brains like that of Chanakya," (the c. 350 BC philosopher and political scientist).
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said this university was just one of the many things that showed his commitment towards a better Bihar.
Others present on the occasion were Patna High Court Chief Justice J. N. Bhatt, Advocate General P. K. Shahi, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and prominent lawyer Ravi Shankar Prasad and a number of Patna High Court dignitaries.
