Former minister in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) government in Bihar, Ramchandra Purbey, on Tuesday in Patna, blasted the NDA government in the state saying it was anti-poor and was being guided by 'only self-serving capitalists' at the cost of poor and small business owners.
"Hundreds of thousands of people will be out of job and displaced if all these big companies started to rush to Bihar," the RJD leader said.
"The Nitish government is anti-poor, anti-village, and is trying to crush the small businessmen by luring megalomaniacs into the state. It is also trying to suppress the voice of the Home Guards by arresting their leaders despite their peaceful means of protest," Purbey said while overlooking the recent attack by the Home Guard jawans on Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and Sports and Culture Minister Janardan Singh Sigriwal's vehicles on September 19.
Commenting on the disgruntled RJD leader Shivanand Tiwari, Purbey said while his personal attacks on Lalu Prasad Yadav was surprising, RJD believed in freedom of speech and Tiwari was free to say anything he wished to say.
Other RJD leaders to speak at the press conference included party state spokesperson Bheem Singh, legislator Ramvachan Rai, and party state general secretary N.P. Yadav.
