42 Artists Honored by Legislative Council Chairperson

Bihar legislative council chairperson Udai Narain Chowdhary, on Tuesday, honored 42 artists representing Bihar Music and Dance Academy by distributing letters of praise, statues of Nataraj, and Rs. 5,100 in cash for their contribution in the field of art in 2006.

While 19 of the award recipients were present at the occasion, 23 who could not make it to the Tuesday event, would be individually handed over their awards by the Academy secretary Vibha Sinha.

Chowdhary, while wishing the best to all the artists, also thanked them for presenting a very colorful show last year in February to welcome the NDA government in Bihar.

Among those who were given awards on Tuesday included Roshan Kumar, Sanjeev Mishra, Ashutosh Mishra, Brij Bihari Mishra, Mohammed Noor, Sanjay Kumar Sinha, Seema Verma, Aparna, Snehlata Sinha, Laxmi Mishra, Ekta Kumari, Ganesh Kumar, Vinod Pandit, Sujit Kumar, Piyush, Ramesh Kumar, Ranjit Kumar, Ravida, Anil Kumar, Rashmi Kumari, Shweta Kumari, Suchitra Kumari, Rashmi Kumari, Surendra Kumar, Mantoo, Ajit Kumar Akela, Amar Kumar, Virendra Prasad, Shambhu, Jitendra Chaurasia, Deepak Kumar, Madhav, Vibha Sinha, Vishwabandhu, Tushar, Tanu Prakash, Markandey Pandey, Deep Narayan Singh, Mohammed Iqbal, Krishna Ram, and Sugandha.
