Chief Lalu Prasad of Lending No Support and Co-operation in the Development Process of the State

After repeatedly accusing the RJD and its chief Lalu Prasad of lending no support and co-operation in the development process of the state, CM Nitish Kumar on Monday directly accused the party and its ministers in the Centre, including the railway minister, of stalling the implementation of central schemes in Bihar.

"I have serious doubt that under the pressure of the RJD, certain developmental works have been held up and schemes kept in limbo," Nitish told mediapersons after holding "Janata Ka Durbar" at 1, Anne Marg.

The chief minister made a stinging remark against Lalu. Nitish said he does not believe in unnecessary criticism and hurling accusations at anybody. "Although I have knowledge of many scandals in the railways, I will not poke my nose in it," he said referring to Lalu.

Visibly irritated over the prolonged delay in the approval of National Highways Development Programme (NHDP) Phase-3 and also execution of work with regard to state highways by central agencies under Sam Vikas Yojna, he said "Being an important ally of UPA, the RJD and its ministers should reply to my charges."

"The people have right to know why the public welfare and developmental schemes have come to a standstill. The works have hampered because of them (RJD)," he said tongue in cheek.

He also alleged that his government got no positive help from the Union ministers of RJD and said they only give
political twist to delay centrally sponsored schemes. "This creates suspicion that they have their hands in blocking the work," he added.

The chief minister also took serious view of criticism by the Union ministers of RJD regarding the working of the state NDA government and said, "They have no business to give us "updesh." Nitish said he will meet Central leaders including the PM with regard to road projects in the state.
