According to a proposal by the Railway ministry, a confirmed SMS will serve as an e-ticket. This service would be the first of its kind, Executive Director R K Tandon said. Tandon added the proposal was in initial stage and some banks and mobile companies showed an interest. The aim is to reduce rush at ticket counters, he said.
