Elected to senate: Two teachers, namely, Mudrika Prasad Sudhanshu of Patna Medical College and Kalyani Singh of Patna Training College were elected to PU senate in the elections held here on Tuesday at the Wheeler Senate House. More than 250 teachers from Patna Medical College, Patna Science College, Patna Training College, Patna Law College and College of Arts and Crafts cast their votes to elect two candidates under the "2 E" category. There were only three candidates in the contest, said PU registrar and returning officer Vibhas Kumar Yadav.
East zone cricket: An east zone inter-university cricket tournament will be held here in Patna University from November 20. More than 40 universities of the eastern zone are likely to participate in the event.
PU dean of students' welfare Ejaz Ali Arshad told TOI that prior to the inter-university cricket tournament, an inter-college sports festival will be held here from October 25 to select teams in different games, including cricket. Teams from all PU colleges would participate in these events.
Holiday on Oct 11: PU has declared October 11 as a holiday as it coincides with the last Friday of Ramzan. Earlier, PU was scheduled to be closed from October 13 for Durga Puja and Eid holidays.
