A Nagpur-based firm on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bihar State Electricity Board to set up a 1200 MW thermal power plant at Banka in east Bihar. The first phase of 540 MW is likely to come up within 33 months.
The agreement was signed between the JAS Infrastructure Private Ltd chief executive officer, Arun Gupta, and the secretary of the BSEB, A K Singh. The chairman of the BSEB, Swapan Mukherjee, was also present on the occasion. Only on October 14 a similar MoU was signed with the NTPC for thermal power plant at Nabinagar in Aurangabad district.
