Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday held a high-level meeting to review the state' preparedness for the proposed Aryabhatt Technical University in Bihar saying once completed this university would meet or exceed the standard of other existing such institutes including the highly-revered Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), BIT-Mesra, or the National Institute of Technology (NIT).
"With world class facilities and teachers making up the infrastructure of the Aryabhatt Technical University, this is not only going to put Bihar on the national educational map, it would drastically cut down on the exodus of Bihari students to other states," Kumar said.
The meeting was also attended by the Education Minister Brishan Patel, Human Resources secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, and Health secretary Dr. Deepak Kumar.
All the engineering, medical, information and technology, management, and other technical colleges to be opened in future in Bihar would operate under the management of this new Aryabhatt Technical University (ATU) for a streamlined, smooth operation, the Chief Minister said adding the ATU would also be responsible for holding exams on time, deciding on the curricula of various colleges, operating a highly-effective placement center, and making up rules and regulations for those colleges.
