Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav on Thursday said the people of Patna would start seeing better roads come March as the government was aware of the existing problems and was working on improving the road conditions of the state capital on a war-footing scale.
Yadav also promised to rid Patna streets of all holes and ditches before Dussehra while informing that the government was working on 48 streets in the city besides 29 main roads in Patna.
Admitting the condition of the busy Bailey Road was worse than ever, the Road Construction Minister said tenders for 36 streets had already been completed and works on these roads were to begin soon.
Yadav further said that a team of experts from IIT Roorkee would conduct tests on many roads including Kankarbagh Road, Bailey Road, Ashok Rajpath, and Khagaul Road to determine how thick the road layers would be to accommodate load from heavy vehicles like trucks and buses.
