All Magadh University colleges will have to display the photographs of Chancellor and Vice Chancellor, besides the history and objectives of the university in the office of the principals of all the 44 constituent colleges. Besides, Magadh university students will have to follow a certain dress code. The boys will have to wear white shirt and black trousers while girls white payjama and maroon coloured kurta. Girls of J D Women's College and B N R Training College in Patna City have already been wearing this uniform for the last few years.
However, succumbing to the pressure of the teachers the University has finally decided against any dress code for teachers. The dress code will come into force from the next academic session starting in July 2008.
The final nod was given at a meeting of the principals of the University held at Aurangabad on Saturday. It was also decided that the students will have to switch off their mobile phones at their college gates. Forty-two principals attended the meetings.
The meeting was chaired by the vice chancellor, B N Pandey, while officer on Special Duty to Chancellor, R Krishna Kumar was the chief guest.
