Flush with all-round praise for the turnaround, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav said today he had more surprises in the rail Budget.
"I will not tell you about it now, as I risk a breach of privilege," he said after the foundation-laying ceremony for the country's third rail coach factory here.
He said the government had many more schemes in store for the Railways to ensure its smooth functioning, "But I will not reveal them now as the rail Budget is scheduled to be presented on February 26".
Earlier, Congress president Sonia Gandhi heaped praises on him and told the gathering the minister had introduced a "new style" to improve the functioning of the Railways.
"For this everybody is praising him," she said.
Mr Yadav said two new corridors Ludhiana-Howrah and Delhi-Mumbai-Chennai-Howrah were being made to ease traffic congestion due to increase in the number of trains, he said.
On the Indian Railways turnaround, he said the network "was incurring losses when we assumed power but now it has been turned into a profit-generating enterprise" and earned a profit of Rs 13,500 crore.
