Sources close to Mr Fernandes disclosed that he would not mind if he was removed as NDA convener for his crusade against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and JD(U) President Sharad Yadav.
Mr Fernandes is having bad relations with the Nitish-Sharad duo ever since he was unceremoniously removed from the post of JD(U) chief last year after he was defeated by Mr Sharad Yadav in the organisational poll.
Mr Fernandes came here on a tour to his parliamentary constituency of Muzaffarpur.
Interestingly, this time Mr Fernandes stayed at the Railway retiring room in Patna instead of the state guest house or any private hotel only too add fuel to the speculation of a possible RJD-Samata relation.
Mr Fernandes, however, was all praise for RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, describing him as "decent" and "courteous". He also lauded the efforts of Mr Lalu to transform Indian Railways into a profit-making PSU.
