Amidst interruptions by the opposition, the Governor highlighted the achievements of the 15-month-old NDA government in the priority sector. Besides, he also mentioned about the measures taken by the government for establishing the rule of law and checking crime.
Criticising the ruling government, the opposition leader Ms Rabri Devi alleged that the speech of Governor was based on wrong facts and figures. "Crimes like kidnapping, murder, extortion and loot were continuing as usual", she said.
The state budget for 2007-08 would be placed in the house by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi on February 27. The budget session would continue till March 28.
