The Delhi-bound Rajdhani express from Patna, reportedly, left 15 minutes behind its scheduled departure time yesterday allegedly because of the uproarious protest by Railways minister Lalu Prasad's brother-in-law and MP Subhas Yadav against the non-confirmation of his tickets in the first class AC coach of the train.
Subhas claimed that despite his requisition to the Parliament house railway booking counter way back on Tuesday to book two tickets for him for his onward journey to Delhi from Patna yesterday, he found his seats unconfirmed in the AC first class category upon reaching the station. "I was given AC second class ticket," he said.
This resulted in an altercation between him and railway officials at Patna junction while someone pulled the chain to stop the train which initially had left Patna junction on time.
Later, railway officials, reportedly, accommodated Subhas in a AC first class coach.
Subhas Yadav threatened to take action against the concerned railway booking staff.
This was, however, not the first time when Lalu Yadav's in-laws took Indian Railways for a ride. In the recent past, his father-in-law and mother-in law were fined for travelling without ticket.
His brother-in-laws in the past were also charged with forcing the Rajdhani express to change its regular arrival platform in Patna for their convenience.
