Six career-oriented courses have been introduced at Patna Women's College introduced by the UGC. The courses introduced are public relations, human resource management, risk and insurance management, stress management, applied yoga, textile ornamentation and home fashion.
These add-on courses can be done along with any degree course. Addressing the inaugural session of the six career-oriented courses, PWC principal Sister Doris D'Souza said the new courses will help the students to prepare for the job market. Sister D'Souza added that the scheme was designed to ensure that graduates after completion of these courses will have knowledge, skills and aptitude for gainful employment in the wage sector in general as well as self-employment.
Science and technology department principal secretary Ajay Kumar, who was the chief guest, appreciated the college move in introducing such courses which are inter-disciplinary and will give an opportunity to students.
