Colleges volunteering for assessment by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) will get all financial help from the state government for their infrastructural development.
A meeting of vice-chancellors of all the universities in this connection is likely to be convened shortly.
Making these announcements at the inauguration of a two-day workshop on NAAC accreditation at Patna Women's College here on Friday, HRD minister Brishen Patel said all the 24 colleges of four different universities, who have been shortlisted for NAAC assessment in the first phase, will receive necessary funds for development of their libraries and laboratories. He said NAAC encourages self-evaluation and accountability in higher education and promotes excellence. He also assured that all the vacant posts of teachers in different colleges would be filled soon.
