The Next time you get an e-mail promising a lucrative job abroad, you had better be extra cautious.
The police have arrested a citizen of Ghana and a 53-year-old woman for cheating an engineer on the pretext of providing him a job in the United Kingdom.
The police said that they had already duped the engineer, Eko Miloni, of £3,500 and were arrested when they had come to collect the second instalment.
The two accused were picked up from Janpath Hotel in Connaught Place on Monday night. The police said that Miloni (28) had applied for a job on a recruitment website.
"After a few days, he received an email promising him a job with an engineering firm in United Kingdom. The complainant replied to the mail and he was called to Delhi to make arrangements for his journey abroad," said a senior police officer.
The complainant came all the way from Tamil Nadu in the hope of getting a job, the police said.
