Doctors owing allegiance to the Bihar State Health Services Association (BSHSA) will strike work on February 7-8 to protest the state government's alleged failure to meet their long pending demands.
A decision to this effect was taken at the executive committee meeting of the BSHSA here on Sunday evening.
"All the government doctors will stay away from work on both the days," Association's General Secretary Dineshwar Singh said, adding even the emergency services would not function.
The meeting also decided that the doctors would proceed on an indefinite strike from February 21 if their demands were not met, Singh said.
Singh said that despite Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's assurance and the Patna High Court's intervention, the state government did not fulfil their demands.
The doctors are demanding Central pay scale and specialist cadre among other things.
