Nitish Inaugurates Sonepur Fair, Invites Lalu, Paswan For Talks On Development

Chief minister Nitish Kumar has invited the railway minister, Lalu Yadav, and fertilizer minister, Ram Vilas Paswan, to his official residence to discuss and prepare the blueprint for the development of Bihar.

Inaugurating the Sonepur Cattle Fair on Wednesday evening the chief minister said that the Fair is the pride of Bihar and has the potential to be developed as the most visible brand of the state. Incidentally the chief minister's invitation came on the day when he, for the first time after a long gap, shared dais with Lalu and Paswan in Baruni during the re-launch of the Barauni Fertilizer Plant early on Tuesday. There too they talk on the issue of development.

Nitish said that the development of the state is his top agenda whether he gains politically or not. He said that he believes in the philosophy of coalition and pursue positive politics. "Whether I remain the chief minister or not is not the issue," he said.

Clarifying on the non-invitation to Lalu Yadav notwithstanding the fact that he is the MP of Chapra (Sonepur falls in this parliamentary constituency) he said the railway minister's name could not be included in the list of guests because he could not be contacted. "The commissioner of Saran told me that Laluji could not be contacted," he added. However, he promised that Laluji would preside over the opening function of Sonepur Fair next time, if he is elected from Chapra in Lok Sabha election scheduled next year.
