State Government Has Prioritised Land Acquisition Drive In Patna District

The state government has prioritised land acquisition drive in Patna district to facilitate timely completion of the ongoing projects, which are related to power generation and transmission, as well as railway and industrial activities.

A press release issued by the Patna district administration said utmost attention was being paid to land acquisition for the purpose, but the interests of the land holders were being also taken care of. New Patna DM Jitendra Kumar Sinha reviewed the ongoing developmental activities and the related land acquisition measures.

The release said of the 47 proposals for 3,112 acres of land acquisition regarding the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) plant in Barh, 42 proposals worth 3.045 acres of land acquisition had been successfully cleared.

Similarly, of the 44 proposals for land acquisition in relation to Neura-Daniyawan railway line, 41 proposals had been sanctioned, and possession of 384 acres of land had also been facilitated in respect of 39 proposals.

The release said possession on most of the lands demanded for Daniyawan-Barbigha railway line, Ganga railway bridge, Fatuha-Islampur new broad gauge railway line, doubling of Patna-Gaya railway line, Bakhtiyarpur training line and railway overbridge at Agamkuan had been accomplished. The possession of nine acres of land for the construction of road overbridge at Fatuha and 43.5 acres for power grid sub-station had also been facilitated, it added.

Sinha reviewed the status of work in the Bihta industrial area, mega industrial park (Bihta), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), sugar factory, and solid waste management unit.

The required chunk of land had been acquired and possession had also been accomplished in respect of Ganga project of Bihar Rajya Jal Parshad, railway platform number 10 of Patna Junction and approach roads of Chiraiyatand overbridge.

Among those who participated in the review meeting were additional collector Akhlaq Ahmed, land acquisition officer Anima Sinha and additional land acquisition officers Rajesh Kumar, Manoj Kumar Choudhary and Manjusha Chandra. It was felt that the department which makes requisition for land should also cooperate with those engaged in land acquisition.
