Selection of 184 Bihar Administrative Service (BAS) officers is likely to be cancelled with the state vigilance bureau recommending cancellation of the first limited examination conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).
Additional Director General (Vigilance) Neelmani said the bureau had probed the alleged irregularities and corrupt practices in the selection of BAS officers through the first limited examination 2003 and found these to be true.
"We are submitting an affidavit in the Patna High Court in this connection," he said, adding the bureau had already filed chargesheets against 104 persons-- 92 candidates, 11 officials and one middle-man in the case.
Soon after declaration of the results of the examination on May 20, 2005, many aggrieved candidates had moved the High Court and challenged it charging irregularities and corrupt practices in selection list.
