As Gaya witnessed the third mild earthquake within 10 days on Monday afternoon a team of Indian Meteorological Department is paying a visit to the town on Tuesday to study the cause of the repeated mild tremors. This followed chief minister Nitish Kumar's talk with ADG IMD, A K Bhatnagar, in Delhi over phone late on Monday evening.
Two children were hurt in a locality under Manpur block across river Falgu in Gaya town. Apart from that the tremor, which took place at 3:44 PM caused a crack in the dome of Rama Janaki Temple near Suryakund pond in Vishnupad area of the town.
The first tremor struck Gaya on May 30 to be followed by much stronger one three days later. It was recorded 4.3 on the Richter scale.
