To stem corruption among its officers, the Bihar government has threatened to stop the salaries of its employees if they do not furnish a list of their movable and immovable assets by the end of September.
State Chief Secretary R J M Pillai has sent a circular to all government departments asking employees covered by the service conduct rules to submit a detailed list of their assets within two months.
The salary of defaulters will be withheld from October this year, sources in the department of personnel and administrative reforms said on Saturday.
The class IV staff has been kept out of the purview of the order.
