Compensation: The Patna High Court on Thursday directed the district transport officer (DTO), Bhagalpur, to pay a compensation of Rs 50,000 to the owner of a vehicle, Shashi Ranjan, whose residential address in the owner book of his vehicle from Purnia to Bhagalpur had not been changed for the last six years.
A single bench presided by Justice Navniti Prasad Singh issued the directive while disposing of the writ petition of Shashi Ranjan whose address had ultimately been shifted from Purnia DTO office to Bhagalpur DTO office on high court order only this year. Source: Times News Network 08/08/2008
