RVS College of Engineering and Technology To Start MCA Course, Add Seats

The RVS College of Engineering and Technology has received the nod from Ranchi Univer-sity to start a master degree course in computer application (MCA) from the next session.

With the plan in place, the private college has also decided to add more seats in its BTech stream and offer an array of new facilities for its students from this academic session. "We received the permission from the Ranchi University for the new course recently. The classes would start with 60 students. Our institute has also decided to add more seats to the BTech courses and offer a new facilities to the students," said college principal M.P. Singh.

Presently, the private college runs BTech courses in computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering and mechanical engineering.

"The All India Council for Technical Education gave its approval to increase our seats and we decided to do so from this year itself. In order to meet the requirements of an increased number of students the institute would also add new facilities on its campus.

The number of computers has been increased to 550 from the present number of 400 to meet rising demand.

Moreover, work is on to provide Wi-Fi facility on the campus. "Work to provide Wi-Fi facility is on at a war-footing. This facility would be available at the campus by January 2009, making us the lone private engineering college in this city that comes equipped with this facility," Singh said.

He also maintained that after Wi-Fi system is placed, student would start getting 24-hour Internet connection on the campus.

Meanwhile, the institute recently added a new training and placement cell to ensure better selection process for budding engineers.
