The deputy chief minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, said that the state government was planning to make knowledge of computer compulsory for any government appointments in future.
While inaugurating the ICT@School project at Mahant Hanumar Saran High School on Friday Modi said the Gujarat government had already made computer literacy mandatory for the government job and the Bihar government was planning to do the same. The ICT@School project has been initiated by the human resources development department, government of Bihar, to impart computer education in high and higher secondary schools in the state. The NIIT has partnered with the Bihar State Electronic Development Corporation (BELTRON) to implement this project.
The state government will also introduce mobile vans with computer to disseminate computer literacy in the interior areas of the state, Modi said.
