Non-generation of power by Kanti and Barauni thermal power units coupled with reduction in allocation of power from the Central pool has deepened power crisis in Bihar today.
Both Barauni and Kanti thermal power units stopped generation because of technical problem, a Bihar State Electricity Board spokesman Hareram Pandey said.
To add to the crisis, the state received 780 MW of electricity from central poll, just half of the scheduled allocation of 1550 MW power per day, Pandey alleged.
Pandey informed that the state was also not getting its share of electricity from 500 MW Talchar power generating plant because of technical fault there.
Besides catering to the requirements of the state capital, the board needed additional 350 MW electricity for maintaining emergency services such as hospitals, railways and defence, he said and pointed out that the rest of the state would face load-shedding.
