Bihar Team for National Junior Games Announced

Bihar Athletics Association on Sunday announced the team for the upcoming 25th National Junior Athletics Competition to be held in Warangal in Andhra Pradesh later next month.

Association president Kumud Ranjan Jha, at a press conference in Patna, announced the names of the 39 members of the team in various categories.

In the under-14 boys category, Girdhari of Bhojpur and Amjad Ansari of Kaimur would be representing the state while in the same category for girls, Neelam of Bhojpur was selected to be the part of the team.

Others to be able to make the final cut include Prem Kunj of Patna, Kriti Ranjan of Nawada, Imran Hasan of Jamui, and Mukesh Kumar of Buxar in the under-16 boys category, Shilpa Veena of Buxar in the same category for girls; Sanjay and Roshan Singh of Gaya, Ashutosh Singh, Pradeep, and Kundan (Jamui), Anand Kishore (Purnia), Prashant Mishra, Narvind, Saurav (Bhojpur), Jaansher Akhtar and Satish Satyam of Nalanda, Harish Kumar of Buxar, and S. Sharma of Patna in the under-18 boys category.

Vandana of Buxar would be representing the under-18 girl's category.

In the under-20 category for boys, Prem Prakash Gupta of Jamui, Ejaz Ahmed, Brajesh Singh, Ajit Singh of Nalanda, Rakesh of Patna, Pawan Yadav of Bhagalpur, and Sanjay Rai of Samastipur would be representing the state.

Under the same category for girls, Shilpa of Patna, Reena of Purnia, and Sharvista Mandal of Saran would fight for the state's glory.

The games are to be held between November 17 and 21, Jha said adding the team would leave for Warangal on November 14 by Sanghmitra Express.

Sanjay Singh of the Bihar Police would act as the team manager while Shams Tauhid and Subodh Kumar would form the team as its coach and trainer.
