Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar today demanded the remerger of Jharkhand with Bihar but said he was in favour of creating small states and extended his support for creation of Bundelkhand and other small states.
"Why only Jharkhand, the proposed Poorvanchal state carving out of Uttar Pradesh should also be merged with Bihar," Kumar told reporters.
Jharkhand was created bifurcating Bihar in 2000.
The chief minster said the constitution of State Reorganisation Commission was necessary since it could recommend both bifurcation and reunification of states.
He, however, declined to comment on the demands for Mithilanchal, Seemanchal and Bhojpur carving out of Bihar.
